Amani History

The Amani Centre for Street Children was established in September 2001 by local Tanzanians, to meet the needs of the rapidly growing population of street children in the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania. They named the home Amani, which means peace in Swahili. From the very beginning Amani has been a haven of peace for children who are homeless.
